Our Process

Pinnacle Print Group guarantee that the product you envision is the one we deliver. We achieve this through prepress – the process of preparing and setting up your artwork files to ensure they are ready for print.

We have trained prepress specialists who will review your graphic file and make necessary changes depending on the complexity of the file and printing method involved. For each project, we evaluate file sizes, output requirements and file types to ensure that your artwork is setup correctly. We do this using a quick and effective in-house process for both digital and offset printing.

Our digital printing machine receives data electronically and transfers the file to paper without the need for printing plates. For offset printing, images and text are adjusted accordingly to create the highest quality print file, which is then transferred to a printing plate. Both processes ensure a seamless print job every time.

The process of preparing files for prepress includes several steps:

01.

Artwork Submissions

Our experienced graphic designers will go over your artwork file to ensure that it contains all the elements needed for a successful print run.

This is the first check point and flags any issues with the file setup. We check to ensure that all images are in the correct format and resolution, all fonts are included in the graphics file, that the PMS/CYMK colours are correctly set up and that the layout elements such as margins, crop marks and bleeds are supported.

We may also convert the original graphics file to a format that will give you a better result. As you know, Pinnacle Print Group are your printing experts and will do anything to make sure you get the very best!

02.

Creating a Proof

Following the completion of the initial file check, a proof is created to provide a preview or replica of the finished product.

This is done to ensure that both you and Pinnacle Print Group are completely satisfied with the artwork prior to printing. In many cases, the proof is created in a graphics program or as a high-resolution PDF file that is emailed to you for final approval.

This is a vital step for all projects that involve finishing operations like binding or folding, as it will demonstrate how the product will be constructed, where it will be folded, the order of pages, among other things. The project is ready to be printed on a printing press once the proof has been approved.

03.

Digital Printing

If the project will be printed digitally, the prepress process is pretty much complete.

This is due to the fact that the PDF file can be electronically transferred directly to the digital press for output, eliminating the need for printing plates.

04.

Offset Printing

Custom plates created to get your artwork ready for print.

Printing plates are required if the project is to be printed on an offset printer and is the final stage of the prepress process in this case. Printing plates are custom made for each job and are used to transfer inked images to the correct position on the paper.
